    Powerful Meditation Tips: Find Your Inner Calm

    We are SO BUSY with our fast-paced lives, we often forget to take notice of our negative thoughts & emotions which are building up inside of us, creating chaos, confusion, and lack of clarity!

    Meditation helps you become aware of your thoughts & emotions and allows you to let go of them without getting stuck!

    Here are a few powerful meditation tips on how you can find your inner calm in the comfort of your own home:

    Step 1: POSITION
    Sit upright & cross-legged or lay down with a straight spine, whichever feels most comfortable.

    Step 2: BREATHE
    Bring your awareness to the natural rhythm of your breath, moving gently in and out of your nostrils.

    Step 3: RELAX
    Guide yourself to relax each and every muscle and cell in your body. Breathe out any tension or stress you may be storing in any part of your body.

    Step 4: FEEL
    Feel the sensations in your body and pay attention to the sounds around you. You can actually make a mental note of the sensations you feel or the number of sounds you can hear in the background.

    Step 5: OBSERVE
    Observe your thoughts & emotions in the background without controlling, judging, or trying to stop them. Pay attention to who’s noticing these thoughts.

    Step 6: FOCUS
    Whenever your mind wanders away from the present (which it most likely will), gently bring your focus back to your breath. SILENTLY SAY THE WORD PRESENT TO YOURSELF.

    Step 7: RELEASE
    No matter how uncomfortable these thoughts are, it’s important to separate yourself from your thoughts, and know that YOUR THOUGHTS ARE NOT YOU! They are simply a story based on your conditioning. Let the discomfort move through you. You have to feel it to release it!

    Step 8: RISE
    As the mental chatter starts to quieten, focus the attention of your ‘closed eyes’ on the mid-point of your brows. As you remind yourself to relax and stay present, your senses will start to elevate into a state of calm.

    You can use this process to meditate anywhere from 5 minutes to 35 minutes.
